談到花枝丸的由來,可追溯至1974年。台灣省澎湖島的烏賊、花枝等漁產滋味鮮美,產量豐沛,但價格及銷售情況卻不甚理想,故亟思妥善解決之道。
因此,台灣漁業協會構思如何改變傳統海產的銷售及食用方式,以避免造成暴殄天物的困境與無奈;並考慮似可做成類似魚丸的產品,賦予嶄新的風味與食用習慣,同時藉以提升烏賊類漁產品(花枝)的附加價值與整體銷售業績。
討論出大概的變革方向後,相關人員全心全意地投入新產品之研發工作,歷經無數次實作、試吃及改良之後,終於成功開發出嶄新的花枝加工食品;除取其原料及外型將之正式定名為花枝丸和現在最新的產品 "花枝魚燕" ,並率先在亞洲市場試賣及推廣。
The origin of cuttlefish balls can be dated back to 1974. The octopus and cuttlefish of Pescadores Islands are very tasty. However, the prices of octopus and cuttlefish were very low and not many people liked to buy them. The fisherman wanted to find out a way to change this situation.
As a result, the Fishing Association of Taiwan tried to find out a strategy and they thought that they could create a product similar to fishballs. With the help of this new product, the sales of cuttlefish would be promoted.
Many efforts were made to develop the new product. After several trials, improvements were made and a brand new product was eventually created.Cuttlefish balls will first be available in Asian Markets

The modern medicine pointed out that the shrimp is high nutritious. It can enhance the immune system and sexual function. Shrimp also has effects in anti-aging. Eating fresh shrimp on a regular basis with warm wine can treat erectile dysfunction, sore legs and fatigue. If women cannot produce enough milk after giving birth to a child, they can eat 500 grams of fresh shrimp everyday with yellow wine. 傳統的台灣省蝦丸作法是選新鮮的蝦,取蝦肉的部分,然後在低溫狀態下絞成蝦絞肉,把絞肉和鹽加入木研鉢裡,將蝦絞肉用力捶打,蝦肉裡的鹽溶性蛋白會重組成網狀結構,最後變成綿細而有光澤的蝦漿。再將蝦漿用湯匙挖成球狀,下沸水中即可煮成台灣蝦丸。
經過兩岸不斷交流,以福州名點 "清朝初年的福州魚丸"為概念,創造出爆將蝦丸。魚肉多來自台灣的淡水魚,剁成茸狀後加薯粉攪拌均勻,再以台灣白蝦作餡製成球形丸子。爆漿蝦丸以其包心有蝦餡為特色,與傳統的福州魚丸各具風味。
Traditional Taiwanese shrimp balls are made of fresh shrimps. The shrimps are chopped into mince under cold temperature. The mince are thumped repeatedly and made into balls.
Due to the continuous communication between Taiwan and the Mainland China, juicy shrimp balls were created based on the "Fuzhou Fish Balls in Qing Dynasty". Taiwanese freshwater fish are used with shrimp in making juicy shrimp balls. These balls have the taste of Fuzhou fish balls, but with shrimp fillings.

香菇是食用菌中的上品,素有“蘑菇皇后”之稱。它含有30多種酶和18種氨基酸,人體所需的8種氨基酸,香菇中含有7種。每100克幹香菇中含有蛋白質13克,還含有其它各種營養成分。“長壽菜”又名“燒香菇”,原是明代宫廷名菜,後流傳於民間。
相傳明代建都金陵(今南京)時,正遇天下大旱,災情嚴重。明太祖朱元璋祈神求雨,帶頭吃素數月,胃口不佳。這時軍師劉伯溫正好從浙江龍泉縣回到南京城,特地將從他家鄉帶來的著名特產香菇,浸泡以後加調味製成一道“燒香菇”的美味菜餚給朱元璋品嘗,朱元璋未及下筷,就聞到一陣陣香味,吃後感到此菜香味濃郁,軟熟適口,滋味異常鮮美,連連稱讚它是一道少見的好菜。隨即他又問劉伯溫 : "此菜滋味為何這樣鮮美,此物生在何處 ?" 劉伯溫便向其講述了龍泉香菇的一段傳奇故事 : 傳說一位名叫香菇的姑娘,為躲避財主迫害逃至荒山,餓昏在地,醒來後吃了這裡生長的香菇,不僅是恢復了健康,後來還活到百歲以上。從此朱元璋在宮中經常食用此菜,而且還稱它“長壽菜”。
Shiitake is called "the queen of mushrooms". It contains more than 30 types of enzyme and 18 types of amino acid. Among the 8 types of amino acid required by human body, shiitake has 7 types. Every 100 grams of dried shiitake contains 13 grams of protein and other nutritions. Grilled shiitake is a famous royal dish during Ming Dynasty, which was also called "Longevity Dish".
Stories said that when Ming Dynasty chose Nanjing as its capital, the entire nation was affected severe drought. In order to prayed to god for rain, the Emperor ZHU Yuanzhang ate only vegetables for months. As a result, he was not having a good appetite. At that time, counsellor LIU Bowen returned to the capital from his home town. He brought shiitake with him, which was a special product of his home town. He then made grilled shiitake for the Emperor. The Emperor found that shiitake is very delicious and asked for its origin. LIU Bowen told the Emperor that shiitake was named after a girl who tried to escape from the persecution of her lord. She hid in the mountains and was starving. In the mountains, she had only a kind of mushroom to fill her empty stomach. Miraculously, she restored her health and lived a hundred years. After heard the story, the Emperor often requested shiitake for his meal, and name it the “Longevity Dish”.
